Today, while walking down a dirt path,
I got kissed on the cheek by a baby elephant.
Unfortunately, I have no proof of the fact.
I do, however, have pictures of the rest of the morning.
Enjoy! 🙂

So, when you sit on an elephant’s knee,
it’s like sitting on a cactus a little bit. Just saying.

Haha, he was putting the hat on my head and it tickled.

We saw elephants play soccer, play HARMONICA, and paint. These. WITH THEIR TRUNKS. Perhaps the coolest animals ever.

But then, we also got to do something even cooler…

Yep. This happened.

My bucket list just got shorter. Thank you, Thailand 🙂

So yeah, our God is a good Dad who gives good gifts to His kids.
And today, He gave me a really good gift.

  1. Dear Steph,

So good to see you smiling and enjoying God’s gift to you, and His wonderful creation — the elephant. They are so cool, and obviously very artistic and talented — that painting was amazing! I would love to have been there to watch that elephant in motion. One night when I was up late (a not so rare occasion)I happen to see a documentary about a particular female elephant’s life story and her influence on her descendents and others in her herd. They showed how one of her babies was born with a problem with his legs; unable to walk, but able to crawl. The tender care she administered to this little one, along with things she did to hoist him up and strengthen his legs. She never gave up on him or left him, and eventually he began to walk. They also showed how the herd made it through a drought and how her expertise and direction enabled them to survive. I forget how old she was when she finally died (it was quite old), but it was so sad. The people who did all the documenting and filming were quite broken up. It was so touching. So amazing are the instincts that only God could have instilled in just an animal as the elephant; how much more amazing is his creation of man and woman and that He was willing to sacrifice His only son to save us when we went astray.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful. I know that full well.”
    (Psalm 139:14)

Wishing you a joyous Resurrection Sunday — I’ll be praying for you and missing you.

    With love,
    Angela
