In His heart a man plans his way,
but the Lord directs his steps.
Proverbs 16:9

"The World Race was never meants to be the final destination. It was never meant to signify that you have "arrived." The World Race is all about initiation- about launching you into the greatness God has in store for your life. You've traveled the world. Your heart has been broken. God has been taken out of the box. You've seen miracles. You've seen hope and joy where there's no earthly reason for hope and joy. Your mind and your world have been turned upside down. You've tasted the sweet beauty and intensity of real community. You've been wrecked for the ordinary. He's made you with a purpose. He's created you to live our a specific part in His love story. Between where you are now and stepping into the greatness God has for you there is a choice to be made…

ARE YOU IN?"

This was not the plan.
I missed the comforts of home.
I missed my friends.
I missed my church.
I missed my bed.
I was going to get an apartment.
I was going to get a job.
I was going to go home.

But sometimes, God writes a different story that we had planned.
All the time, His ways are greater than our ways.
And all the time, He does more than we could ask, think, or imagine.

This week, here at Adventures in Mission headquarters in Gainesville, GA, I was challenged.

Do I trust God enough to take a risk for His sake?
Is He God, and does He love me?
Am I willing to stake my life on God's promises?

"Some men die in shrapnel.
Some men die in flames.
But most men die, inch by inch,
playing silly little games."

Deep breath.

I am moving to Georgia.

At the very least, for 3 months.
I will be part of the Center for Global Action,
a program of Adventures in Missions.

We will continue our training as missionaries,
and become more prepared for wherever God calls us full time.

So, as scary as it is.
It's not a sacrifice.
It's a priviedge to follow God's call.

So, here I go again.

Daughter of God,

(Fast Facts: Moving early September, Need to raise a bunch of money, and need some prayer for God's continual peace during the moments I doubt His direction. More info coming soon.)

  1. Well, here I go again with you back on the ‘ol missions prayer list! But would there have been any other place, you see……we are all missionaries, and are broken, and are changed, and see miracles and have your heart broken, and sometimes need an extention ladder to touch bottom, but we are open to have God change and work in us whether in the vet’s office or in South Africa. So Steph, we’re right there with you! God will continue to work through you where ever you go and we’ll love you and ALWAYS keep praying for you!!
