Mirupafshim, Albania!
Mirupafshim, Shqiperise!
(“Goodbye, Albania!)
As you know, this month has been pretty intense. Team changes,
oppression, spiritual warfare, not always being allowed to say
we’re Christians, etc. But ministry has been awesome, and we’ve
had a great month! Here are some pictures to give you an idea of
what Albania is like. Like I said before, pictures during ministry
aren’t always appropriate, so that’s why there are more silly things ๐ Enjoy! AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS! They changed
our month, lightened our spirits, and changed lives ๐
Cheesy smile on the Adriatic sea ๐
The girls dorm where we lived this month.
The entrance to our campus.
Me and two lovely teammates, Jess and Lins.
If you order a sandwich in Albania, this is
what you get. White bread, bologna, and
fries, smothered in ketchup and mayo. EW.
But hey, its 50 cents, and this is the WR.
When our squad leaders came to visit when
all the spiritual warfare stuff was going on,
they took us out to Bumper Cars to get our
frustration out, haha. $1 a person!
Learning an Albanian dance! This went on
for about… an hour and a half. Straight.
Every day we hang out outside on the dorm
with our new Albanian friends. We picnic
on blankets and play cards. It’s awesome ๐
Lots of cool conversations about the Lord
have come up!
Another large portion of our ministry has
been coffee dates. We’ve taken countless
people out, and had amazing chances to
share our stories and the gospel. We can’t
say “Christian” and if we pray, we have to
pray with our eyes open.
Volleyball has also been a huge ministry
here on campus. The Albanians ALWAYS win.
European men really do play chess in the park.
Our team at the castle.
My team comparing the length
of their leg hair in the middle of
the street. Welcome to the WR.
Two teammates hugging after we got
over the rough week of spiritual warfare.
My favorite picture of the month. For our
team time one day, we swam in the sea.
It was refreshing and wonderful and such
a good break from ministry.
Olivia and me getting the sea urchin spines
out of Amanda’s foot after stepping on
some rocks at the beach.
Our crazy team at our Halloween Party that
we hosted for one of our weekly American
nights. We had a ton of students come
out and it was awesome!
Sam and I on Halloween.
Yes, I have pumpkins
on my head ๐
As we near the end of our month, we’ve been able to take
the friends we’ve made on some cool adventures. For about
30 cents a person, we’re able to go to this rock and jump off.
It’s crazy beautiful, crazy scary, and so awesome.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PRAYERS
AND SUPPORT THIS MONTH!
“FILAMINDERIT!”
Stephanie,
Thanks for clearing up what one of the pictures was showing, “the comparing of leg hair”…..LOL. That got a major laugh;-)
We will be praying for your safe travels to Romania and that the LORD will continue to use your witness in Albania to change lives even after you are gone.
LOVE YOU STEPH… YOU “CHOKE ME UP”! LOVE WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND LEARNING… LOVE THE FUN TIMES FOR YOU TOO! PRAYING FOR YOU EVERY DAY!!!! JER 29: 11-13!!!!!
WOW! how wonderful to hear about what’s been going on with you and the team, loved the part about the leg hair comparing, and that “sandwich” is something else. Ben praying for each member of the team individually as well as the whole teams. God bless and keep up the good work for the Lord.
Love, Peg
