Hey everyone! So, we’ve arrived safe at Remember Nhu. After a long busride, with massage chairs?! we arrived in our city. We were greeted by our contact and brought to their house for my first HOT shower in two and a half months, and my third shower with running water in two months as well. Oh, and chocolate chip pancakes. Talk about best day ever.
Thai Update: Please Read
HERE’S THE IMPORTANT PART:
We were made aware this morning that we cannot specify where we are. If you write on my Facebook wall, post here, or anything, please do not give details. As far as the internet is concerned, we are working with Remember Nhu in Thailand. Don’t say the region or the city, which I previously posted but have now deleted. In fact, our contacts only say they are working in Southeast Asia. This is just to protect the identity of the children we are working with, to honor their stories, and to keep the ministry safe. Thank you!!
We’re loving it here already. My bed is in a room with my team and the girls, and it’s packed. There are FORTY EIGHT beds in this room – crazyyy. One giant sleepover with the precious chicas. We’ll be mostly working with the kids here, then also doing some manual labor, clearing land and such, and then also going into the Red Light district. More updates soon! 🙂
Hi Steph!
I’m taking note of all that you said, thanking God for your safe arrival and for refreshing you a bit with massage chairs on the bus (do we even have those here?), the luxury of a hot and running water shower, and chocolate chip pancakes! I will be praying for you and your team every day — trusting that God will pour out His love through you to those girls and knowing that your faithfulness and commitment will make a difference in their lives. And, of course, praying that the Lord will: protect you, give you strength for the task He has set before you, keep you healthy and feeling well, and to somehow encourage you each day as only He can. (And PLEASE BE CAREFUL!)
With love,
Angela
Stephanie, we will be in prayer for these girls and the safety of your team. May the LORD display his love and manifest his person in this place……
Steph,
May God use you mightily with those precious girls and may they feel the Lord’s tremendous love for them through you and your team. Our prayers are with you….I have the Stephanie Bernotas and Rob Renuart (serving in Afghanastan)prayer time!
