Filming a documentary. Launching a magazine. Decorating my new bedroom. Three things I never expected to be part of my life as a missionary. Three things that happened this week. Sometimes Jesus has better things in store for us than we could imagine. So here's a glimpse at life this past week:

Filming a Documentary

This week, our team traveled 12 hours to film a short documentary on Zi Ping. Remember the short video I made back in February? Even though it was made with limited software and in the car in about an hour, it has already passed 13,000 views. Because the Edwards family story has already impacted so many lives, we decided to film it. So we drove and drove and invaded their house for the weekend. We did interviews, filmed playtime and soccer games, and are excited to release the short documentary in November! Here are a few shots of our week, as well as the old video.

Launching a Magazine

After a year of brainstorming, planning, and implementing, we launched our newest online magazine on Monday! Check out the About Us page to see our bios. It's been so cool to be a part of this team with my friends, coworkers, and roommates (Stephanie May and Lacee Peloquin, you'll see their bios too.)

Venture is an online publication dedicated to telling the stories of courage. It's a place for people to gather who believe that life is a story worth living, and that our stories are worth telling.  We want to be the kind of people who live stories that matter – not for the sake of the stories themselves, but as our way of worshipping the God who writes them all.

We know that we live courageous stories out on the field, but now is our chance to celebrate the ones we live back home—declaring that the beauty and the magic of a life following Jesus is not restricted to any certain location.

Kind of appropriate, eh?

Check out our mini-promo video (longer version coming soon). I helped with some of the set design for it, and these are all our friends. There are people from our squad, this is actually our house, etc. It's so cool to be a part of this!

Decorating my Bedroom

Sometimes as a missionary months are spent sleeping on floors, in tents, on other people's couches, or in temporary rooms. But it's been a blessing to "settle" a little. In the midst of all the adventures and chaos, it's nice to have a little resting place.

Thanks again for all your support! Without you guys, none of this would be possible.
