There is a story that God has been writing since the beginning of time. Its a story of restoring mankind unto Himself. A story of redemption from the grave, beauty from ashes, and life from death. A story of creating something out of nothing and breathing life into man and the most powerful act in human history, paying the price for the sins of all mankind. He restores.

From the Aegean Sea to the Andes Mountains to the African villages to the avenues of America, He is writing a good story. A story of redemption. A story of hope.

A story that’s true.

And He invites us into that story. Because you see, He is a good author. He knows that His story involves conflict: We live in a fallen world full of war and sin and death and disease. We know all too well about broken hearts and broken bodies and racial divides and injustice and this feeling, deeply and viscerally in our souls, that it’s not supposed to be this way.

And it’s not.

It’s not supposed to be this way and so He invites us to join in flipping that story on its head. To be a part of engaging conflict and rising to action and changing the narrative and bringing resolution to the most seemingly impossible places and situations.

He invites us to remember that the story He is writing did not end in 33 AD but that it continues today. He is still the same God who is not slow to keep His promises and who desires that all men be drawn unto Himself.

We are a part of that story. We choose to live in a way where we know that God has put each and every one of us on this planet for a purpose. To play our part in turning the world right side up again.

A world that is full of brokenness, but yet beauty.

Despair, but yet hope.

Trouble, but yet triumph.

How do we live in a world where that makes sense? Where He has already redeemed, but not yet restored? Where He has already rescued, but not yet recreated? How do we do this?

We remember. We remember that there is a story God has been writing since the beginning of time. It is a story of restoring mankind unto Himself. A story of redemption from the grave, beauty from ashes, and life from death.

We remember that we’re in the middle of it. It’s not over yet. He is not finished yet. And we’re invited to take our place, to join our King, to step in line, to agree with Him that hope is not finished yet. There’s more of the story to be written. And we agree with Him that we’re in. We’re all in.

And so when we tell our stories, from the most remote villages to the highest mountaintops, from the stories on living room floors with our best friends to the unexpected moments in the airport, we remember that it was His story all along. We’re not the main character, He is. We’re not the hero, He is. And all of the sudden the pressure is taken off to be the one restoring the very most broken places. We come into agreement that He is not done yet. And in faith, we keep going. We keep serving. We keep telling the stories of the people of God back to the people of God, so that even more may join in.

Because at the very depths of our soul, down to the blood in our veins and the breath in our lungs, we know that He is writing a good story. A story of redemption. A story of hope. A story that’s true.

And He’s not done yet.

In case you missed it, I’m joining the staff of Adventures in Missions, aiding in creating a culture of storytelling. We deeply believe that God’s story is not finished yet. We believe that His story is not limited to the people on the field or the ones writing the checks or anything in between. We want to tell the stories of what He is doing all around the world, near or far, as an encouragement to the people of God that He is the very same God we read about in Scripture and we can trust Him. We’ll do this through writing, photography, videography, reporting, training, discipleship, and more. In order to start on July 1st, I need my friends and family to partner with me. If you would like to join in this particular story that God is writing my becoming a monthly financial partner, head over to the DONATE button on the left, or click here.
