Welcome to Cambodia!
If you didn’t watch the video from
the last blog…please do 🙂

So basically, our Thai visa’s were up, and we had to
cross the border. But here in Cambodia, ministry
can’t start until the 19th, because it’s the Khmer New Year.
(Happy 2556 by the way!)
So… we had the AMAZING opportunity to stay in a guest
house in Siem Reap, Cambodia for the week.

Travel days were intense. But after walking across the border,
we realized it was going to be a pretty awesome week.
Not only do we have air conditioning and beds,
but we are about a half hour from Angkor Wat, an incredible
ancient temple that we got to explore.

We have about an hour left here, and then we travel
to Phnom Penh, and then we travel to our ministry locations.
We don’t know where they are.
We don’t know what we’re doing.
But it’ll be good.
Enjoy the pictures!!!

This is how we transported our bags across the border.

Entering into Cambodia… pretty sweet.

The sign outside our guest house… pretty much the coolest thing ever.

On every street corner they have these little aquariums that you stick your feet in and fish eat all the dead skin off. It’s basically a one dollar pedicure. And I’m scared to try. Though they have tried to alleviate my fear by informing me that there are, in fact, no pirhanas

There are lots of other fun pictures… but these are by
far, THE coolest pictures, MAYBE of my life.
(for real. you all need to add going to Angkor Wat
in Siem Reap, Cambodia to your bucket list.)

So, we cannot find our ministry location on the map, so I have absolutely no idea what to expect for the next three weeks that we’re in Cambodia. I’ll send an update when I can 🙂

Thank you for your prayers!!

  1. Dear Stephanie,

Thanking God for bringing you safely out of Thailand and into Cambodia. The photos are wonderful — the ones with you in them look like they were paintings and then some artist came along and painted you in!

Can’t say that I’d be too quick to jump into that fish pedicure either. Seems to me they should be paying you the dollar — after all, it’s your dead skin the fish are eating!

You’re always on my mind and in my prayers! I’m so looking forward to hearing from you next and about what God is showing you and revealing to you in Cambodia. In the meantime, enjoy that A/C, and may the Lord bless you with a good night’s sleep on those beds.

    Love,
    Angela

  2. What a great idea for making extra money when you get home. Call it “Fins for Skins” Chgarge $5 for a fish pedicure. Add octopi for a foot massage (at exta cost, of course). The pictures are awesome. Praying for you and your team as you start your new ministry.
    Love, Dda

  3. Hey they have some of those fish in Europe in big pools and they eat dead skin off all your body, you just sit there…pretty sick!! I’m glad y’all made it safely and your pics are super. Our prayers are with ya till ya get home!!
    Love ya Schweetie,
    Susan

  4. Stephanie, you should totally do the fish spa! We did one in Thailand, and it just tickles like CRAZY. But it works. It was probably the smoothest my legs and feet have ever been! Lol. I hope we get the opportunity to go to Angkor Wat while we are in Cambodia.

  5. Whoo, fish eating your foot skin? Sound fishy to me[sorry I’ve been living with Tom too long, hee hee]. the photos are beautiful, you look lovely and healthy. It is so good to hear from you, we pray for you and the team daily, and nightly. Still figure out the time difference. Your new asingnment is in our prayers and we’ll be waiting to hear what it is.Blessings on you and the gals. Love You, Peg
