Cambodia has been insane living in the jungle.
God’s done a lot of really cool things.
We had amazing contacts, that are now friends.
We taught English classes in the dirt.
We swam in the river.
We ate weird fruits, rice, duck eggs, and pork… every day.
We visited those who had lost all their families
to the Khmer Rouge genocide and land mines.
We brought the gospel to an island
that had never even seen white man before.
It was insane.
Here are some pictures 🙂
Thanks for your prayers!
The field behind our treehouse.
Teammates hanging out with the kids at the river.
One of our English classes.
Small group.
The balcony of our treehouse.
I don’t wanna talk about it, haha.
Our contact climbing our treehouse and killing the poisonous thing
that I don’t wanna talk about.
Some of the kids.
Nat and Sam with the python that lived next door.
The neighbors across the street.
Visiting our sickies in the hospital.
The kitchen.
The laundry.
Playing in the mud with Lins and Sam after teaching kids how to swim.
Our Cambodian “grandmother.”
Another “grandmother”… we prayed over her and she said that
when she dies, she wants Jesus to take her now.
She’d also never seen a movie, so we watched
Beauty and the Beast, of course.
On the hammock of the ferry that took us to the island
that had never heard the gospel.
On the island.
Typical Cambodian house.
How we got to ministry… so fun.
Well, there a ton more pictures. Here are more if you’d like to check them out.
Thanks so much for your prayers.
An update is coming soon about what God is doing in my heart.
We fly to Malaysia tomorrow for MONTH 11! CRAZY
Be home in a month 🙂

  1. What an experience Steph. These are some of the most awesome photos yet. But more important is how your team was able to “speak Christ” into people of such a remote place. I was concerned about the old land mines that were still killing a couple people a day, but God’s angels protected you all. Now off to Malaysia, then HOME (Yea!!!). Praying for you, and all who have the “fever”.
    Love, Dad

  2. Dear Steph,

So good to hear from you! The pictures were great; definitely resembling “the jungle” to the extreme (and I won’t even mention that poisonous thing, because I don’t want to talk about it either!) But I will thank God for the contact who was willing to climb up to kill it. And, for His protection over you for dangers that I’m not even aware of.

You’re pressing on, girl! Month 11 is upon you, and then home-bound you’ll be. Rest assured that the prayers for you will continue throughout the next month, and I know they will be much needed after you return. I haven’t a clue what it will be like for you to return here after all you have experienced, but I will be willing to sit and listen, if and when you have the need or desire to express it to me. I think that it is awesome and clear that you and your team were part of God’s mission to take the gospel to the far corners of the world in giving you the privilege to bring the gospel to those on that island, who had never heard the gospel before. That brings us one step closer to eternity with our Lord, and your willingness and heart for God (as well as those on your team) has allowed you to be used by God to accomplish this.
He wants all His children to be saved, and He’s doing it through you and your team (even if it’s one child at a time). “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined.” (Isaiah 9:2)

Praying and trusting and looking forward to your safe arrival in Malaysia; and as always, looking forward to whatever you are able to share about what God is doing in your heart and how He’s using you there.

    With love,
    Angela
